b00le (or boo1e) are a Washingon DC based band that started in 1990 under the name of The Apologizers, which later evolved into George Boole and the Toggles and eventually into the present day Boole. The band is made up of Bradley Barkett, Michael Barkett, and M.J. Barkett Jr. This band is recently best known for being the ones that took over after Apoptygma Berzerk decided to cancel their Washington DC show due to equipment disputes.

When I first saw this CD, I thought "uhmmm, ok" the band looks like a typical raver/electronic dance group, with bright orange foam cowboy hats and the ever present alien iconography. Boy was I in for a surprise. The sound is over all very EBM, but with a lot of unique twists that really make it worth listening to, there's a lot of house and disco influences that totally seem to add a lot of fun to the album. And indeed it is fun -- the opening song is just really quite quirky and weird, but very very good, while the final hidden track seems to poke fun at NIN and their legion of mimics.

The music is very high energy and really makes me want to dance around and have a good time. The cover of The Smiths classic "Panic" is really a nice touch for this album, updating it into a new format, without losing any of its original flavor. Really, a great sounding and unique album for the EBM fan, or even that raver you want to convert.
